Hi, Will and Janet here and we are newlyweds from Canterbury: after 7 long years, our wedding day has arrived and our honeymoon, too. During our trip, we simply couldn’t miss a romantic weekend in Florence: everything was perfect, from the welcoming to the food, from the atmosphere to the landscape. In other words, it has been an open-eyed dream!
Will and Janet’s romantic weekend
There is no other more poetic city in Italy than Florence. It remains in our hearts because it captures our love with its own elegance. We already miss colored marbles, dinners along the Arno river and the walks on the Old Bridge just before sunset!
We, as English people, love beautiful, pleasant and soulful things. We cannot describe with words just how fascinating is the Garden of roses.
We were walking near the Piazzale Michelangelo when we decided to enter. Only afterwards we noticed that there are three entrances. One in the Poggi Road, one in San Salvatore Street and one in Bastioni Street.
Wherever you decide to enter, remember that we lost our concept of time as we admired this green oasis and its wonderful roses. There are about 350 rose bushes and it was so romantic to linger surrounded by the colours and the perfumes: what a delightful experience!
Romantic Florence, romantic resort
After having visited the Giardino delle Rose, we needed to rest so we turned back to the hotel. We decided to stay in the B&B Le Stanze del Duomo and we couldn’t have chosen a better one!
When we were looking for our romantic resort in Florence we fell in love with these rooms. They have lovely interior furnishings that cannot be missed such as Free Wi-Fi, a large wardrobe and a whirlpool shower!
However, we felt as if we were real citizens of Florence. Could it be because of the view that we had of the Duomo in the morning?
Our romantic weekend in Florence was so perfect in every detail that we can only hope to organize a second honeymoon!
See you soon,
Will and Janet
